Channel 4 has reportedly ordered a new series of Coach Trip with Brendan Sheerin returning as tour guide.
The long-running reality show has aired on Channel 4 and E4 on and off since 2005, with almost 600 episodes being broadcast over 24 series.
The most recent series was a celebrity edition - shown on E4 over three weeks in January 2020 - but since then production has been shut down due to coronavirus.
According to The Sun, now that COVID restrictions are starting to lift across the UK and Europe, Channel 4 has given the go-ahead to a new series to be filmed in September.
"Everything will be filmed within COVID-19 safety guidelines but the show will look just as authentic as it usually does," a source told the newspaper.
"This new series will air in 2022 – meaning it will have been almost two years since the last instalment in 2020.
"Brendan is ready and raring to go and cannot wait to get back on the coach."
It is unclear whether the new series will feature celebrity contestants or civilians, or whether the show is destined for Channel 4 or E4.
