Veteran actress Doreen Mantle has died at the age of 97, her agent has announced.
The star was best known for playing Mrs Warboys, the thorn in the side of Richard Wilson's Victor Meldrew in One Foot In The Grave.
In a career stretching back to the early 1960s, Mantle appeared in scores of TV shows and movies - including a stint on Coronation Street playing Joy Fishwick, the mother of one of serial killer John Stape's friends, in 2010 and 2011.
A statement from her agency read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved client and much-loved stage, screen, and radio actress Doreen Mantle, aged 97.
"She died peacefully at home. She is survived by her two sons, four grandchildren and one brother."
