Rob Brydon says that he expects Gavin & Stacey to return for another special episode.

Gavin & Stacey star Rob Brydon has predicted that the show will be back for one last special episode at some point in the future.

The comedy returned for a Christmas special in 2019, 10 years after its previous outing, and was a huge ratings hit with 18.5 million viewers.

The episode ended with a marriage proposal cliffhanger, but as of yet co-creators Ruth Jones and James Corden have not started work on writing a follow-up.

Talking about the show's future on his Brydon & podcast, Brydon said: "Well, I think they might do one more special.

"Because they left it hanging, didn't they, with the proposal? So it would seem strange if they didn't.

"But they should crack on if they are going to do it."

Brydon joins other stars from the show, including Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, to have called for a new episode in the near future.
