Sally Lindsay, Neil Morrissey and Alexis Georgoulis are to star in a "terrifying psychological thriller" for Channel 5 called Love Rat, it has been announced
The four-parter follows new divorcée Emma (Lindsay), who enjoys a whirlwind holiday romance in Cyprus with hotelier Niko (Georgoulis) but is left stunned to discover that Niko and his business partner George (Ramon Tikaram) have scammed her out of her life savings.
Morrissey plays Emma's ex-husband Pete, whom she relies on to help her track down the men and get her money back.
"Love Rat is a brilliantly entertaining story, full of twists and surprises; it really turns the topic on its head which is what drew me to the project," said Lindsay.
"Emma is an interesting and layered character that everyone will be rooting for as she takes control of her situation and her destiny."
Filming on Love Rat begins in Cyprus this month for broadcast on Channel 5 in 2023.
