Liz Sheridan, best known for playing Jerry Seinfeld's mother on Seinfeld, has died five days after celebrating her 93rd birthday.
The actress appeared in all nine seasons of the hugely-popular sitcom and also had roles on shows such as ALF, Life with Louie and Murder, She Wrote.
According to TMZ, Sheridan died overnight in her sleep due to natural causes.
Just weeks before her death Sheridan was said to be in talks with producers about making a film based on her book about her relationship with James Dean in the 1950s.
Sheridan is survived by one daughter.
