Simon Cowell is reportedly working on a new motoring-based TV show in the style of the BBC's enduringly-popular Top Gear.
Last month it was revealed that the media mogul's long-running show The X Factor has been axed by ITV as he switches his attention to developing fresh formats.
The first of those will be Walk The Line, a new singing-gameshow hybrid due to air this autumn, but according to The Sun, he is also working on a show about cars.
"Simon has always been a huge car lover - and a car show is always something he has been interested in doing," a source told the newspaper.
"He was famously a guest driver on Top Gear and loves talking cars. He has been approached by a number of well-known car experts and racing drivers wanting to partner with him over the years.
"Right now there feels like an especially large appetite. The idea of a new car show is really a no-brainer for him."
The 61-year-old's other ongoing projects include the Got Talent franchise and a children's book series developed with his son.
