The Office legend Ewen MacIntosh in hospital

Ewen MacIntosh posts an update from his hospital bed as he receives treatment for a mystery illness.

Ewen MacIntosh has said that he is suffering "bad times" in hospital as he receives treatment for a mystery illness.

The 48-year-old is best known for his role as Big Keith in The Office and recently reunited with Ricky Gervais for a cameo role in the third season of After Life.

In a social media post on Sunday afternoon - his first update in a week - MacIntosh shared a picture of himself shirtless in a hospital bed with what appeared to be electrodes attached to his upper chest.

The accompanying message said: "Bad times for me I'm afraid chums. Stat strong out there"

MacIntosh has not yet revealed what he is receiving treatment for.
