Read a recap of all the major talking points from the season three finale of The White Lotus - but be warned of major spoilers!

Season three of The White Lotus has come to an end in typically-dramatic and explosive fashion as all of the major plotlines converged on one final, fateful day at the Thailand resort.

Read on for the episode's main talking points - but be warned, major spoilers lie ahead!

Rick's actions have consequences

Rick returns to the hotel from Bangkok and tells Chelsea that he feels as if he has "got the monkey off my back" but soon after the Hollingers arrive and Jim confronts Rick. "Well look who it is. You come into my house, lie to my wife, get the fuck out of here." Rick tells him that they will be leaving shortly, prompting Jim to retort: "I know your mother was a drunk and a slut, I didn't know she was a liar too. She told you a fairytale kid. Your father was no saint, you didn't miss out on much, and that's the fucking truth."

Rick seethes and goes to make a move on Jim, but Jim reveals that he's holding a gun. Jim's men give chase to Rick but when Rick spots Jim and Sritala posing for a photo with the girls, he snaps and marches up, quickly steals Jim's gun and shoots him twice in the chest. As Jim lies dying in Sritala's arms, Rick tells her that he killed his father - and Sritala delivers the revelation: "He is your father, he told me."

A gun fight ensues between Rick and Jim's men and in the process Chelsea is shot in the stomach and dies. He carries her away distraught, but under orders from Sritala, Gaitok steps up and shoots Rick in the back, killing him and sending both his and Chelsea's bodies in the water - to be discovered by Zion.

Timothy Ratliff executes his final plan

Timothy sees Lochlan reading a book and encourages him to go out and have some fun, ominously telling him: "It's your last day."

Meanwhile Saxon is frosty towards Lochlan and when Lochlan asks if he's mad, they discuss their sexual encounter on the boat. Lochlan explains that he felt his brother was feeling left out and he just wanted to make him happy but Saxon was unhappy with the response, telling his younger sibling: "If you want to worship me, worship me, but don't worship me."

Later, Timothy discovers that the poisonous seeds from a fruit will kill those who consume them and sets in motion a plan to kill his family by blending up seeds and serving them pina coladas - except for Lochlan, who is told to just have a coke. As they start to drink the cocktails Timothy has a change of heart and knocks Saxon's out of his hand before throwing them all down the sink, claiming that the coconut milk is off.

The next morning, Lochlan is the first of the family to wake and decides to make himself a protein shake in the blender - unaware that the blender still contains the remains of the deadly seed mix. Shortly afterwards Lochlan staggers to the pool, where he collapses and appears to die. His lifeless body is found by Timothy, who cradles his dead son.

However Lochlan was merely comatose and wakes soon after, vomiting before telling his dad: "I think I just saw God."

On the boat home, the Ratliffs get their phones back as a seemingly clear-headed Timothy tells them all: "Things are about to change, but we'll get through it as a family. We're a strong family - and nothing's more important than family, right?"

Does Belinda blink?

Zion insists on accompanying his mum to see Greg, having convinced her to let him negotiate his $100k offer for her silence up to $1 million. Belinda chokes on her drink when Zion instead tells Greg that they want $5 million - and after Greg flatly refuses, Zion points out that Tanya had a wealth of $500 million and that $5 million represents just 1% of that. Belinda storms out, saying that she wants nothing to do with it, but later reveals to her son that it was a tactic to enable him to close the deal.

In the early hours of the next morning, Belinda is stunned to check her account to find that Greg has paid the money in full. After celebrating with her son, she goes to visit Pornchai and tells him that they can't go into a business together as "circumstances have changed for me" - echoes of exactly what Tanya told her in season one.

The loose ends

Laurie finally opens up about how she feels like an outsider to Kate and Jaclyn and the three longtime friends reconnect. Valentin and his mates entertain some new girls at the resort - an indication that they are starting a fresh scam. Gaitok is promoted to be widow Sritala's new head of security, Frank joins the monastery and Chloe finds a hunky young man to engage in a threesome with her and Greg.
