ITV is reportedly undecided about whether to bring back Starstruck for a third series in 2024.
The show, hosted by Olly Murs, sees members of the public impersonate their music idols, battling against each other for a prize of £50,000.
Applications for a potential third series opened when series two finished earlier this month, but The Sun says that the process has now been abruptly cancelled amid the show's uncertain future.
A source told the newspaper: "Starstruck was a big success - the show achieved consolidated viewing figures of 4 million but ITV haven't yet confirmed a third series yet.
"There are regular conversations with the show's producers and it could return in the future - they just don't know when a gap will open up in the schedules."
The most recent series of the show - ultimately won by an Adele impersonator - introduced country music legend Shania Twain as a new judge alongside returning judges Adam Lambert, Jason Manford and Beverley Knight.
