'Big Brother' in Australia resumes filming

The Australian version of Big Brother resumes filming after a crew member tests negative for coronavirus.

Production on Big Brother in Australia has resumed after a crew member tested negative for coronavirus.

Yesterday it emerged that the show had temporarily halted filming after a member of staff reported having come into contact with someone who had contracted the deadly disease.

As a precautionary measure most of the show's crew were sent home to self-isolate - although the contestants participating in the series remained in the house.

A statement from production company Endemol Shine read: "The test result for our Big Brother crew member believed to be exposed to COVID-19 has come back negative. We will resume filming Big Brother tomorrow and will continue to work within all Federal and State guidelines."

For the first time the Aussie version of the reality series is being pre-recorded, so the temporary disruption is unlikely to affect the show's broadcast plans.
