Amazon Prime Video launches on Sky Q

The Amazon Prime Video app launches via Sky Q in the UK ahead of the service's exclusive coverage of select Premier League games in December.

Sky has confirmed that the Amazon Prime Video app is launching on Sky Q in the UK and across wider Europe today.

As we first reported last week, the launch of the streaming service via Sky will enable customers to watch Amazon's slate of original series and live sport coverage - including exclusive Premier League games - through their existing Sky Q boxes.

Stephen van Rooyen, Sky's chief executive, said: "Sky Q customers are receiving an early Christmas present on their boxes this year in the form of Amazon Prime Video.

"Amazon Prime Video TV shows, movies and more will sit alongside Sky Originals and Netflix, as well as apps like Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Fiit and much more. This will make it even easier for you to access everything you love, in one place."

As part of the deal, Sky's NOW TV service will also become available through Amazon's Fire TV devices.

The launch of Amazon Prime Video on Sky Q comes ahead of the service's broadcast of 10 Premier League games this week, starting on Tuesday night as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Chelsea.
