The BBC launches iPlayer on PS5 devices, complete with UHD compatibility.

The BBC has officially launched its iPlayer app on PlayStation 5 devices today.

The move opens up the BBC's library of catch-up and boxset programming, as well as live channels and live streams, to more than 1 million owners of the console in the UK.

To add iPlayer, PS5 users should scroll to the 'Media' tab on the home screen and select iPlayer from 'All Apps', which will make it accessible from the home screen.

The PS5 version of the iPlayer app also supports Ultra HD streaming, where content is available in UHD quality and the user has a UHD-ready TV set.

Other entertainment apps available on the PS5 include Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Now TV and BT Sport.
