CNN has launched a new ad-supported FAST TV channel in multiple markets across Europe.
The streaming channel comprises curated clips of CNN reports, each typically three to six minutes in length, which will play out 24/7.
The move comes after CNN scaled back the availability of its existing news channel in the UK, limiting standard carriage to the Sky platform in the hopes that viewers on other platforms will pay to watch online.
CNN Fast is available from today on Rakuten TV, followed tomorrow by LG Channels and in June on Samsung TV Plus.
Meara Erdozain, svp of programming at CNN International, explained: "This is a great opportunity to showcase highlights of some of the best CNN content to a broader audience, offering different genres of stories presented in a fast-paced, short-form style that will appeal to a younger and wider demographic."
CNN Fast is currently available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, with more countries to follow shortly.
