The full ITVX app goes live on Sky Q, two months after the streaming service's official launch.

ITVX has gone live on Sky Q, two months on from the streaming service's official launch.

The free, ad-supported service replaced the ITV Hub and offers a huge library of over 10,000 hours of programming as well as over 20 'FAST' live channels.

The launch of ITVX in December marked a huge strategic shift for ITV, which will premiere many of its new shows on the service months ahead of their traditional linear debut.

The broadcaster has also signed major deals with film and TV studios to establish a library of movies and acquired programmes, including US dramas, classic sci-fi and anime.

The live channels, meanwhile, include streams of ITV's established linear brands as well as a host of 24/7 channels based around a specific theme or dedicated to a certain show.

ITVX also incorporates the paid-for add-on BritBox, which has a library of archive content from the BBC and Channel 4, and also removes advertising for all on-demand programming on ITVX.

From launch, the app was available to users of the Sky Glass and Sky Stream products, with Sky Q customers limited to the standard download of ITV catch-up shows.

Now Sky Q customers can access the full app, however, by visiting the 'Apps' section in the main menu, selecting ITVX and then logging in with their account.

The move means that Channel 4's All 4 app and Channel 5's My5 app are now the only notable omissions from the Sky Q app offering.
