ITV announces a deal that will see content from StudioCanal join the ITVX Premium offering.

ITV has announced a new deal that will bring content from StudioCanal to ITVX Premium users from this spring.

Launched in December, ITVX is the broadcaster's major new streaming service, offering more than 10,000 hours of TV and film content.

ITVX is free to use, albeit interspersed with adverts, although users can opt to pay for a Premium option which removes adverts from on-demand programming and unlocks access to the BritBox service.

From later this spring, Premium users will also gain access to StudioCanal Presents, which boasts over 400 films and hundreds of hours of TV shows.

Among the movies included in the deal are Legend, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Rambo, Apocalypse Now, Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth and the Paddington films.

The TV shows joining ITVX Premium include Russell T Davies's dystopian drama Years and Years, Hannibal and French procedural Spiral.

ITVX Premium subscriptions start at £5.99 a month.
