Channel 5 announces plans to relaunch Paramount Network as 5Action next month.

Paramount Network is to be rebranded as 5Action from next month, Channel 5 has confirmed.

The new channel will continue to show the same mix of programming as Paramount, with shows such as Traffic Cops, Police Interceptors and WWE wrestling in the lineup.

The change is purely a cosmetic one and comes ahead of the launch of the Paramount+ streaming service in the UK early next year.

5Action launches on Wednesday, January 19 and will retain Paramount's EPG placing on Sky, Virgin, Freeview and Freesat.

Paramount Network has also recently undergone changes in the US, where it now operates as a full-time movie channel.
