Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has downplayed speculation that her character Lisa Swain could become involved in a surprise romance with Carla Connor (Alison King).
The two headstrong women have crossed paths multiple times over the last year, most recently when Carla's nephew Bobby (Jack Carroll) was arrested for giving a false alibi.
Swain and Carla appeared to bond after the former struggled with the behaviour of her teenage daughter - and their spark led some fans to suggest that there could be something more between them in the future.
"I think in this moment she's so busy and she's trying to be a single parent, in a high-powered profession which is very stressful," Myers told The Mirror.
"There's a lot going on, so what would be really nice would be if they have a relationship as in a friendship. She doesn't trust many people, she doesn't have much cause to and she doesn't let her guard down.
"So with Carla she sees another female who's strong, opinionated but also she has got a heart. Carla drinks red wine too, I think this is perhaps someone she can let in.
"She's very protective of her daughter and she doesn't like to bring anyone into that family dynamic because she's having problems at home. But I think that would be nice for them to be friends or for her to have a friend."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
