Hundreds of cast and crew on Coronation Street gathered to witness Helen Worth's final scene on the show after her remarkable 50-year stint on the cobbles.
Christmas Day's episode saw Gail marry Jesse (John Thomson) and bid goodbye to her family and friends before leaving Weatherfield for a new life in France.
On screen, Gail's last scene was her leaving in a taxi but in reality those scenes were shot several days before the final scene that Worth actually filmed, which was fittingly inside the Platts' living room.
A new behind-the-scenes video captures her final moments on set, which sees the first AD call cut and Worth notice the many colleagues that have gathered behind the cameras to give her a rousing send-off.
Fighting back tears, she said: "The reason I've been here all these years, and it's a lot of years - it's more than I can think about really - is because of all of you people that have been here for, well, some of you for all of those fifty years and others for half of that time.
"But I couldn't have done any of it without you. I really couldn't. You are the most amazing team of people, and I really do say thank you.
"And as for this lot, who didn't tell me [about this]. Oh God, I love them so much. I don't quite know what I'm going to do without you. But thank you for everything."
