Bonnie Langford is reportedly poised to make a return to Doctor Who in 2023, some 37 years after her last appearance on the show.
The actress, 58, appeared as computer programmer Mel, a companion to Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy's iterations of The Doctor in 1986 and 1987.
Returning Who showrunner Russell T Davies is no stranger to bringing back characters from the classic era of the show, and according to The Mirror, Mel is next on his list for a comeback.
The newspaper says that Langford has been asked to make a cameo role in the next full series of Who, with Ncuti Gatwa as the new Doctor, which is expected to air in 2024 after three 60th anniversary specials in 2023.
Mel last appeared on screen in the 1993 charity special Dimensions in Time for Children in Need and has since appeared in the series of audio adventures for Big Finish.
