Jodie Whittaker's final episode of Doctor Who will see her pay homage to her predecessors as The Doctor, it has emerged.
The special 90-minute episode will air this autumn to mark the BBC's 100 years on air and will culminate with Whittaker's Doctor regenerating.
According to The Mirror, The Doctor will be seen wearing some iconic garments from previous Doctors - including Tom Baker's striped scarf, Patrick Troughton's checked trousers and Peter Davison's celery sprig.
A source told the newspaper: "Getting Jodie - and some others - to wear some of the best-loved items from the Doctors' wardrobes over the decades, seems a fitting and perfect way to mark the BBC's 100 year anniversary."
The exact plot of the episode is unknown, although the story will see some former companions - including Bradley Walsh's Graham, Janet Fielding's Tegan and Sophie Aldred's Ace - unite to help The Doctor battle her deadly enemies The Master, the Daleks and the Cybermen.
The special is due to air on BBC One in October.
