Next 'Doctor Who' rewatch confirmed as 'Vincent and the Doctor'

Richard Curtis and Karen Gillan will tweet along to a mass rewatch of Doctor Who fan favourite 'Vincent and the Doctor'.

Doctor Who fans are planning a mass rewatch of the 11th Doctor story 'Vincent and the Doctor' on Monday night.

With most of the population on coronavirus lockdown, fans around the globe have been streaming select episodes of the long running sci-fi show at the same time and providing commentary on Twitter.

Last week former executive producer Steven Moffat tweeted along during a mass rewatch of the 50th anniversary special 'Day of the Doctor', then last night Russell T Davies did the same to mark the 15th anniversary of 'Rose' - even releasing new unseen material relating to the episode.

The next rewatch has been confirmed as 'Vincent and the Doctor', a fan favourite that sees Matt Smith's Doctor and companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) travel back to the 1890s to visit Vincent van Gogh (Tony Curran). Bill Nighy also makes an appearance as a museum curator in a poignant scene.

The episode's writer, Richard Curtis, will tweet along with the screening, as will Gillan and script editor Emma Freud.

The rewatch of 'Vincent and the Doctor', which is available on iPlayer and Netflix in the UK, has been set for Monday night at 7pm.
