ITV has secured agreement with the owners of Gwrych Castle to use the venue for this year's edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! if required.
Last year the long-running reality show was broadcast from the derelict Welsh castle rather than its usual home of the Australian jungle due to the travel and safety complications caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite the change of locale, the series ranked as the second most-watched in the 20-series history of the show, with an average of 11.46 million viewers watching over three weeks.
Producers are reportedly planning to return to Australia for the next series this November, but according to The Sun, they have already secured the use of Gwrych Castle again in case that is not possible.
"Ultimately they are at the mercy of COVID-19 restrictions," a source told the newspaper.
"Formally an agreement is in place for the use of Gwrych Castle this year. Should the show need to be held there again it has all got the green light.
"A huge amount of work went into readying the building so the basics are all laid down and ready to go.
"The castle format ended up being a huge success for ITV and having a second series in Wales wouldn't be a negative for them.
"But going back to Australia is what everyone wants and that is what everyone is working towards and hoping for."
Last year's series was won by author Giovanna Fletcher, who was crowned the show's first ever Queen of the Castle.
