Colin Trevorrow "really going for it" with Jurassic World Dominion

Jurassic Park director Colin Trevorrow insists that the upcoming sixth movie in the franchise will clear "a high bar".

Director Colin Trevorrow has said that he is 'shamelessly' upping the ante with the upcoming sixth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise.

Called Jurassic World Dominion, the film unites the stars of the original trilogy - Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum - with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from the second trilogy.

The story is set four years after the last movie, at a time when dinosaurs are now roaming free alongside humans around the earth - a concept first teased in 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

"I think when you see the trailer for this movie, your reaction will be, 'Oh man, he's really going for it!' And I really am," Trevorrow said in an interview with Empire magazine. "I am shamelessly going for it with this movie.

"When you get to this point in a franchise, being able to show people something that they've never seen before, it's a high bar to clear. And I think we do it in a lot of places.

"It's completely different to what we've seen before, and yet, as it goes along, I really hope people will realise how much it cares about the franchise it's a part of."

Jurassic World Dominion is due for release worldwide on June 10, 2022.
