The Spice Girls are reportedly in "advanced" talks about a new movie featuring their music.
The news comes as the five-piece - Victoria Beckham, Geri Horner, Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton - prepare to celebrate their 30-year anniversary in 2024.
The group starred together as themselves in the 1998 film Spice World, which was notoriously laden with celebrity cameos and has become a cult hit in recent years.
According to The Sun, the new film will not feature the girls themselves but will instead follow the life of a young Spice Girls superfan.
"Everyone is very excited about this script but it will be a totally different number to Spice World," a source explained to the newspaper.
"The girls aren't appearing in it but it's essentially a gentle, upbeat, coming-of-age story, a jukebox musical about a kid who's obsessed with the Spice Girls.
"Style-wise, it is very much like Take That's recent Greatest Days musical, which was adapted from their stage show.
"It will be endorsed by the band - all five have signed off on the project - and it will feature several of their songs.
"Geri is leading the drive to get this off the ground and is regularly talking to the producer, coming up with great ideas. The girls all think it's a really fun idea."
The girls are also thought to be close to announcing some new gigs to mark their 30th, including a possible show at next summer's Glastonbury Festival.
