David Beckham 'signs deal for Netflix show'

David Beckham will reportedly appear in a new Netflix documentary charting his professional career and personal life.

David Beckham has reportedly signed a deal with Netflix to appear in a documentary about his life.

The as-yet untitled series - earmarked for a release in early 2022 - will look back on the former England midfielder's professional career and his personal life, including archive footage and freshly-shot material.

Beckham's wife Victoria and their four children will feature heavily in the show, while there are also expected to be contributions from ex-teammates Cristiano Ronaldo, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs.

"This is a real coup for Netflix - and will show a completely different side to David, one the public very rarely get to see," a source told The Sun.

"David's family are all massive archivers; they've been proudly documenting his career since he was a boy and have kept all the old local newspaper cuttings, school records and team photos throughout the years.

"There's even some classic camcorder footage from various birthdays, Christmases and special occasions, as well as some hilarious insights into David and Victoria's early dates.

"Needless to say, David is bound to come off brilliantly while viewers will get to see Victoria's quick wit.

"A camera crew will also document David's life now, following him around the globe as he fulfils various business ventures."

Among Beckham's current projects are the new MLS side Inter Miami and the League Two outfit Salford City, which he owns with several of his former Manchester United teammates.
