ITV to re-air all 31 games from Euro 96 on ITV Hub

ITV confirms plans to make all 31 matches from Euro 96 available in full on the ITV Hub.

ITV has announced that it will make all 31 matches from Euro 96 available in full on the ITV Hub.

With most of the UK population isolating at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, broadcasters and streaming services are reacting by increasing the amount of classic and nostalgic content available to viewers.

Almost all live sport has been cancelled around the world for the foreseeable future, including Euro 2020, but ITV hopes to fill the void by making all games from Euro 96 available on its on-demand service from May.

ITV4 will also broadcast the five matches involving host nation England, including the semi-final which saw the Three Lions knocked out by Germany on penalties, as well as the final between Germany and the Czech Republic.

"Nothing brings the country together like Euro fever, and with this year's tournament postponed to 2021, we're giving our audience a chance to relive one of the all-time great sporting events, Euro '96," said Paul Mortimer, ITV's head of digital channels and acquisitions.

"Thanks to the ITV Hub and ITV4, there'll be no shortage of vintage football classics for fans to indulge in over the next few months."

The summer of 1996 is also fondly remembered for the chart-topping anthem 'Three Lions (Football's Coming Home)'.
