NBC has greenlit a US version of The Wheel following the show's successful launch on BBC One.
The gameshow, hosted by Michael McIntyre, sees celebrities spun around on a giant wheel before helping contestants answer general knowledge questions in order to win cash.
The series debuted on the BBC in November and became an instant ratings hit, prompting NBC to quickly order a 10-episode version for the US market.
"We knew that NBC was the perfect home for The Wheel within the first few minutes of watching the show," said Jenny Groom, evp of unscripted at NBC. "Its inherent ingenuity and addictive game play immediately hooked us."
McIntyre, who will serve as an executive producer on the US version, added: "Hosting this show is the most fun I've had on television. The format creates wonderful camaraderie among the celebrities, natural hilarity and genuine suspense. I can't wait for The Wheel to roll across America."
The show is expected to premiere on NBC later in the spring or early summer.
