Ricky Gervais has revealed that he has completed work on his first draft of the next season of After Life.
Netflix persuaded the comedian to pen a third and final season of the dark comedy after drawing widespread acclaim for the first two seasons, with Gervais himself revealing that the show had generated more positive feedback than any of his previous projects.
At the start of the coronavirus lockdown Gervais said that he had started writing scripts for the new season and now he has completed his first pass of the six episodes.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday night, he posted a picture of a bottle of Glenfiddich whisky on top of a pile of papers headed 'After Life Series 3 By Ricky Gervais, First Draft'
Gervais captioned the image: "This calls for a little celebration."
The new season is expected to be released on Netflix at some point in 2021.
