Virgin Radio launches pop-up Pride station
Virgin Radio announces pop-up station Virgin Radio Pride, on air until mid-September.

Virgin Radio has launched a pop-up station aimed at the LGBT+ community this summer.

Virgin Radio Pride is available through DAB in London, as well as online and through the Virgin app, until the middle of September - just after the official Pride in London event.

Programming includes a predominantly pop-dance playlist, as well as documentaries and discussion programmes on LGBT+ issues, while presenters include RuPaul's Drag Race UK alumnus Tia Kofi.

Mike Cass, content director of Virgin Radio UK, said: "From June 7 until mid-September, Virgin Radio Pride UK will broadcast stories from our community, by our community in one big audio festival.

"I'm delighted to have partnered with so many wonderful organisations to create a radio space for LGBTQ+ celebration and storytelling. We will make you laugh, occasionally make you cry, but most importantly make you proud."

Tia Kofi added: "I'm so excited to be part of the launch for this incredible new LGBTQ+ station. We have created something made by queer people for queer people and beyond, and it's going to be amazing!

"Get ready for the ultimate Friday night pre-party with me, as well as some sensational content from across the LGBTQ+ community."

The station will also include simulcasts of Chris Evans's breakfast show and Graham Norton's weekend show.
