'80s pop star Shakin' Stevens is reportedly the producers' top target for this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 75-year-old - known for hits including 'Merry Christmas Everyone' - has supposedly been approached multiple times in the past but he has rejected every offer to date.
A show source told the Daily Star: "Bosses have spent years trying to get Shaky on the show and are hopeful he'll finally say yes.
"Shaky is considered a national treasure and is certain to be popular. His hip-shaking on Top of the Pops is legendary."
Also rumoured for the new series, which begins on BBC One in September, are ex-Emmerdale star Amy Nuttall and Sherlock's Amanda Abbington.
