Strictly Come Dancing producers are said to be keen to include an all-male couple and an all-female couple this year.

Strictly Come Dancing producers are reportedly keen to feature two same-sex couples this year.

The lineup for the new series is in the process of being finalised and is due to be announced in a month's time ahead of the show starting in September.

In 2020 Strictly featured its first same-sex couple when Nicola Adams paired up with Katya Jones, while last year John Whaite and Johannes Radebe formed a successful partnership and finished as runners-up.

A source told The Sun: "It was clear from audience feedback that fans wanted to see celebrities competing with a partner of the same sex if that was their preference.

"And the bosses have been very mindful of that for this series.

"After an all-female pairing and an all-male pairing, this year they were keen to have both.

"The thinking is that same-sex pairings will be very much part of Strictly in the future."

Among those rumoured for this year's show are Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley, presenter Helen Skelton, ex-Emmerdale star Adam Thomas and TV chef Gino D'Acampo.
