Tiger King to return for new episodes?

Netflix reportedly gives the go-ahead to new episodes of Tiger King.

Netflix have reportedly given the go-ahead to "a new series" of Tiger King following the runaway success of the show.

The seven-part series documented the extraordinary life of zookeeper Joe Exotic and his long-term rivalry with Carole Baskin, culminating in his being sent to jail for his part in a plot to have her killed.

More than 64 million households viewed the programme in the month following its release in March, making it one of Netflix's most successful programmes ever.

According to The Sun, brand new episodes are now in the works and Exotic is on board to take part - albeit from prison - but the participation of Baskin is not yet guaranteed.

"Carole is asking for a seven-figure sum," a source told the newspaper. "It's around the £1 million mark. She wants to plough it into her Florida sanctuary, Big Cat Rescue.

"Taking part in Tiger King opened up her private life and she wants to make sure it's worth her while."

Since the show was released, a judge has handed Baskin control of Exotic's zoo, while Exotic has been working to secure his release from prison.
