Channel 4 has axed the civilian version of SAS: Who Dares Wins after eight series.
The show, which has been on the air since 2015, sees members of the public put through their paces in an extremely tough SAS-style selection course.
While the broadcaster has now pulled the plug on the original format, the celebrity version will continue on, with a new series due to be filmed in the coming months.
A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "Due to the huge success of Celebrity SAS we have shifted our focus to prioritise this strand. A longer, eight-part series is to commence filming in the summer.
"It is categorically untrue to suggest that we are reviewing all of our long standing shows with a view to discontinuing them."
The next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins was already filmed late last year, with Matt Hancock among the contestants, and will be broadcast on C4 this autumn.
