Freddie Flintoff will reportedly teach a group of celebrities how to play cricket for a new BBC TV show airing later this year.

Former England captain Freddie Flintoff will reportedly train celebrities to play cricket for a new TV show.

The 43-year-old enjoyed a glittering career for his country over more than a decade, claiming the English record for most sixes in Test cricket and ranking as England's third-highest wicket taker in the one-day game.

According to The Mirror, the Top Gear host will coach a bunch of celebrities in a new series called Freddie's First Eleven for the BBC.

"Freddie is the perfect frontman for a cricket entertainment show," a source told the newspaper.

"We've seen how hilarious he is on Top Gear, and bosses know he'll bring humour, as well as his sporting expertise, to the show. Telly execs are hoping the show will knock viewers for six."

The show is expected to air later this year.
