Former Good Morning Britain host Pip Tomson joins the presenting lineup of GB News.

Pip Tomson has joined the presenting team at GB News after a decade working as a news correspondent for Good Morning Britain.

The journalist left the breakfast show last month, ending her involvement with ITV which had stretched back to her time with ITV Central in 2002.

Appearing on GB News this morning, Tomson revealed that she will shortly be joining news veteran Mark Longhurst to host the 12pm to 3pm slot on weekdays.

"It starts very soon," she said. "We're going to have lots of news stories, great interviews... we want to have a laugh as well and we want to hear from you, [the viewers]."

Tomson's GB News debut will come later today when she fills in for Longhurst from midday.
