A TV spinoff of the Indiana Jones franchise is reportedly in the early stages of development at Disney+.
The successful movie series, which stars Harrison Ford as the titular archaeology professor, launched in 1981 and will conclude next summer with the fifth film.
According to Variety, producers Lucasfilm are keen to keep the franchise alive after Ford's big-screen exit and have been in discussions with Disney about a spinoff show.
The publication says that details of the project are scant - including whether it will be a prequel or serve as a continuation of the films - but adds that executives from Lucasfilm have been meeting with multiple writers lately in the hope of finding someone suitable to oversee the new show.
The as-yet untitled fifth Indiana Jones film completed filming earlier this year and is due for release on June 30, 2023.
