Lady Gaga storms to top of UK albums chart

Lady Gaga's Chromatica tops the charts after recording the most sales of an opening week for an album in 2020.

Lady Gaga has claimed her fourth UK number one album after Chromatica stormed to the top with impressive sales figures.

The new record, which features collaborations with Ariana Grande, Sir Elton John and Blackpink, registered 53,000 chart sales - the best opening week for an album of 2020 so far.

According to data provided by the Official Charts Company, the album sold more than the rest of the Top 10 combined and shifted 8,500 copies on vinyl.

Three tracks from the record land in the Top 40, with last week's number one 'Rain On Me' dropping to two, Blackpink collab 'Sour Candy' opening at 17 and 'Alice' charting at 29.

DaBaby ft. Roddy Ricch's 'Rockstar' returns to the top of the singles chart courtesy of more than 64,000 sales - including 8 million streams - to mark a third week at number one.

This week's highest entry is 'I Dunno', a collaboration between Tion Wayne, Dutchavelli and Stormzy, which opens at seven.
