Owen Cooper in Adolescence / Netflix
Netflix became the first streamer ever to be named Broadcaster of the Year at this year’s Broadcast Awards, beating the BBC, Channel 4 and 5 to the honour.
The platform picked up three awards in total at the event, also claiming Best New Drama for Adolescence and Best Documentary Programme for Grenfell: Uncovered.
Elsewhere, Casualty was named Best Soap/Continuing Drama ahead of EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, while Jack Rooke’s Big Boys took the Best Comedy Drama Programme award.
