The BBC has commissioned a two-part documentary looking back at the Brexit vote to mark the upcoming ten-year anniversary.
On June 23, 2016, the British public voted against expectations to leave the European Union, kickstarting an unprecedented period of political upheaval in the years that followed.
Brexit: How Britain Voted Out – airing on BBC Two and iPlayer – features interviews with the key players in the process, including David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage, Michael Gove, George Osborne, Gordon Brown, Marina Wheeler, Bob Geldof and Seumas Milne.
“As the 10-year anniversary of the referendum approaches, it’s a wonderful opportunity to tell the story of the campaign,” said series producer Norma Percy.
“We’re lucky to have assembled an amazing cast of characters, some speaking publicly for the very first time, who tell us what it was like during this extraordinary period in British politics.”
The BBC has also ordered three-parter The Diary of Anne Frank for BBC Two as well as a new episode of The Elon Musk Show called Elon Musk: The Next Chapter.
