Amol Rajan for University Challenge / BBC
University Challenge presenter Amol Rajan has reportedly signed up for The Celebrity Traitors ahead of filming for series two.
Recording of the next edition of the show is about to get underway in Scotland, with the identities of those taking part expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Yesterday it emerged that top actor Michael Sheen is supposedly in the lineup, and now The Sun says that Rajan, 42, is also on board.
A source said: “Getting Amol is a massive coup. He is used to holding the country’s sharpest minds to account and spotting a lie from a mile away on the Today programme.
“Producers know he won’t be easily fooled by his fellow celebrities. He has the perfect poker face and the academic brains to go all the way, whether Claudia taps him on the shoulder to be a Traitor or leaves him as a Faithful.
“Amol is a huge fan of the show and couldn’t resist the chance to take part. Viewers are going to see a completely different, much more ruthless side to him.”
The newspaper has also named actors Hugh Bonneville and Richard E Grant as potential participants.
