Vanessa Feltz has revealed that she is launching a new YouTube show from her own home following her departure from 5.
The veteran presenter was left shocked earlier this year when 5 informed her that her afternoon chat show would be axed after just a year – and the final episode went out last Friday.
The new show is called At Home With Vanessa and has echoes of one of her first TV roles as an interviewer on The Big Breakfast, where she would speak to celebrities on the comfort of a double bed.
“I was told [about the 5 axe] on the Wednesday and, by Friday, I had the builders in,” Feltz told The Sun. “I couldn’t think what to do. And then I thought, ‘YouTube’.
“That’s what Piers Morgan’s doing with colossal success. Holly Willoughby is about to do it, too.”
She added: “I hope people like it. But in the end, it’s only TV. If they don’t, I’ll think of something else.”
At Home with Vanessa launches on YouTube in mid-August.
