Jaime Winstone as Young Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders / BBC
Jaime Winstone is reportedly in talks about joining this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The lineup for the new series is gradually being revealed over the course of the Summer, with seven names confirmed so far – ex-EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, reality star Dani Dyer, Aussie popstar Delta Goodrem, hair stylist Chris Appleton, Love Island‘s Cach Mercer, Big Brother host Will Best and Paralympic legend Dame Sarah Storey.
Winstone, 41 – daughter of hardman actor Ray Winstone – is known for her portrayal of a young Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders, as well as the Charlie Brooker zombie series Dead Set and the twisted thriller Donkey Punch.
A Strictly source told The Sun: “Bosses will be hoping that Ray will be coming down to the studio to see his daughter dance on more than one occasion – after all he’s a bit of a national treasure.
“But they’ll also be praying that he and Danny will be in the audience on the same night, with the front row looking like a gritty Brit flick.”
The new series launches on BBC One in September.
