Catherine Tyldesley will return to Coronation Street as the new landlady of the Rovers, it has emerged.
The actress, who first played Eva Price from 2011 to 2018, agreed to make a comeback to the soap earlier this year.
According to The Sun, Eva will be back on screen for the first time this autumn, with Tyldesley due to begin filming this week.
“It’s one of the biggest jobs in soap, the landlady of the Rovers Return pub,” a source told the newspaper.
“Bosses were desperate to get Cath back. They came up with the perfect storyline with her being unveiled as the new landlady of the Rovers.”
The news comes after Sally Ann Matthews, who plays previous landlady Jenny Connor, announced her impending exit from Weatherfield.
