Hollyoaks reportedly has enough new episodes in the bag to last until the end of July.
The Channel 4 soap cut its broadcast from five episodes a week to just two after the coronavirus pandemic brought filming to a halt in March.
According to The Sun, new episodes will run through until the end of July, after which classic episodes – dubbed Hollyoaks Favourites – will fill every weekday slot.
“The soap will switch to vintage episodes – known as Favourites – five nights per week,” a source told the newspaper. “They’ve managed to get clearance to run any old episode going right back to the first one in 1995.
“They have all been given a digital makeover so viewers can see classic episodes in high-definition for the first time ever.”
New episodes continue to air Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 4 and E4.
