The Ashes urn / WBD
TNT Sports has agreed a deal for the UK and Ireland broadcast rights to this Winter’s instalment of The Ashes.
The five-match series will see England’s men’s team travel to Australia and take in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney with hopes of claiming the famous urn for the first time since 2015.
Coverage of The Ashes adds to TNT’s Winter cricket lineup, which also includes white-ball tours of Ireland and New Zealand.
“We are privileged to be able to bring every ball of this much-anticipated, iconic series to TNT Sports this winter,” said Scott Young, EVP at WBD Sports Europe. “This story began in 1882 and it never fails to deliver.
“Quite simply, the Ashes transcends cricket. This winter, we will have two great sides led by two fantastic captains in Pat Cummins and Ben Stokes who lead their teams in different styles go toe-to-toe in one of sports biggest rivalries. It will be compelling, must-watch sporting drama at its finest.”
Coverage will air across TNT Sports as well as on streaming through discovery+ until January, when TNT will become part of the new Max service.
