STV has confirmed plans to cut 10% of its workforce in order to deliver £3 million of annual savings.
The decision means that the Scottish broadcaster will axe around 60 jobs over the next year in a response to flatlining revenues and a reduction in profit.
The move also comes despite STV’s plans to launch a new radio station in the coming months.
Rufus Radcliffe, STV’s chief executive, said: “We have done everything we can to limit the impact of cost savings on our people.
“We are now going into consultation and are committed to supporting our people through this period of necessary change.”
No details of which departments are affected by the job losses have yet to be disclosed.
