Emily for Big Brother 2025 / ITV
Emily Hewertson has been named as the victim of a savage first-night twist on this year’s Big Brother.
Shortly after entering the house, the housemates learned that a public vote had put three of them in the firing line for an early eviction.
Emily, Sam Ashby and Caroline Monk were named as the three with the most votes and had to enter the ‘Exit Room’ to decide their fate.
Caroline – at 56 the oldest housemate by almost 20 years – volunteered to leave, telling the other two: “Look I’ll go, because you’re too young.”
“If it’s done it’s done,” she reasoned. “I’ll go and have a bloody good drink.”
Big Brother then asked each of the trio to explain why they should stay and what they would do with the money, with Caroline answering the latter by saying that she would stop work and spend more time with her elderly parents.
When it came to the decision, Emily voted for Caroline to go, while Caroline picked Emily, leaving Sam with the deciding vote.
They decided to change their mind last minute, switching out Caroline for Emily, explaining that Caroline’s reasoning for wanting to win had swayed the vote.
“I understand,” Emily said. “Someone had to go first right? It’s brutal.”
“It’s okay, it’s been real guys and we wouldn’t be picked for the bottom three if we were boring, so we made an impact,” she added before exiting the house.
Big Brother continues Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
