Dee-Dee on Coronation Street on July 2, 2025 / ITV
Channique Sterling-Brown has confirmed recent reports that she is to leave her role as Dee Dee Bailey on Coronation Street.
The actress joined the soap in September 2022 and has been a part of memorable storylines including her relationship with abusive groomer Joel Deering (Calum Lill) and confronting racial discrimination in maternity care.
Talking about her exit on Instagram, Sterling-Brown wrote: “After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles.
“Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.”
Sterling-Brown is expected to film her final scenes in the coming weeks, with the storyline playing out on screen towards the end of the year.
