Preparations underway for summer run of Big Brother USA

Construction on the Big Brother house reportedly gets underway in LA, suggesting that the new season could go ahead this summer after all.

Construction has reportedly started on the new Big Brother house in California ahead of the next season potentially launching later this summer.

The long-running reality show has been a fixture of the CBS summer schedules for the last 20 years, although this year's edition has been put under threat by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Deadline, "preliminary production prep" has commenced on the CBS lot in Los Angeles - with construction workers using PPE and observing social distancing as they ready the set.

The publication notes that the show still needs to get "union and guild approval" before filming can go ahead, although work on the set implies that it could begin as soon as next month.

CBS has yet to reveal casting details for the new season - the 22nd - although recent reports have suggested that it could adopt an all-stars format.
