Veteran actress Flo Wilson has joined the cast of Emmerdale playing Claudette, the mother of village vicar Charles (Kevin Mathurin).
The character is described as "a force to be reckoned with and totally unafraid to speak her mind", but deeply proud of her son's standing in the community.
When she arrives in the village, it soon becomes clear to everyone that she is a woman not to get on the wrong side of - but what has brought her to the Dales?
"We are delighted to welcome Flo Wilson to the cast of Emmerdale," said the soap's executive producer Jane Hudson.
"Her talent and experience will bring a new dimension to the show, and we can't wait for viewers to see her in action. She's certainly going to ruffle feathers in the Anderson household."
Wilson, known for shows including Sanditon, Help and Brassic, said: "I feel blessed that I was chosen to play Claudette and I hope to make the Emmerdale family proud of the work that I will do."
Mathurin added: "I've had the privilege of working with Flo before, so when I saw her name on the sheet I knew she'd be perfect to bring Claudette to life. Flo is a wonderful soul, an amazing actress and is already settling in."
Wilson began filming earlier this month and will be seen on screen for the first time later this spring.
